How to Enjoy Reading As A Busy Mom!

 

As moms we love books. Reading a good book whether it's Romance, Sci-Fi, or Thriller we just want to be able to have time to read. Trust me I totally get it but let me help you. 

Wherever I go my book goes. This has always been my motto.  If I didn't carry my books I feel like I would never get a chance to read during the day. When I'm going out for the day I always have a small bag in my car with the current books that I'm reading. So If I'm waiting at the doctors office I pull out my book; if I'm in the car waiting for any reason I can pull out my book. I treat my books like my cellphone, I just can't leave home without it. 

I'm not a huge fan of Audio-books because I've always just loved having a physical book in my hand. But as busy moms sometimes Audio-books are just a lot easier. Listen to a book in your car, while you're taking a hot bath, getting ready for the day or while you are cleaning. I can admit certain books I have read I have enjoyed more with audio. It's nice hearing someone else read the book, listening to the different characters come to life. 

When you are making your task list or planning out your day, try adding reading for 15 to 30 minutes. I find adding reading to my daily task list helps reading become a task. I would try to add it to either an early morning routine before the children wake up or after the children have gone to bed.

As busy moms trying to have any kind of time for you is hard. It can also be hard trying to find people who enjoy reading like you. Try joining a book club. There are even online book clubs. One of my favorite online book clubs is The Holly Furtick Book Club. She is on Instagram and she has book club nights once a month on a Tuesday. 

Check your local Public libraries to see what book clubs they offer.  

As a mom books have always been my step away from everyday challenges of life. You deserve that moment!
